Over the last couple of years, Alderson’s has done a lot of work on my house, including adding an en suite bathroom, French windows and a Juliet balcony to the 4th bedroom, completely re-modelling the main bathroom, boarding out the loft, re-roofing and adding a remote-controlled Velux window. In a second project, you built a side extension comprising an office, downstairs toilet and utility room, patio, driveway, fence, new boiler and added a bespoke hybrid sun room/conservatory that I designed myself.
I am completely satisfied with your firm’s work on these projects. The great improvement in convenience and comfort that my family is now enjoying is proof of the excellence of your advice and the high standard of work your firm delivers. Throughout the projects I greatly appreciated your own punctual reliability and keeping me informed of the time-scale of work without burdening me with unnecessary trivia. I particularly appreciated being able to keep in touch with you via WhatsApp and the very quick replies I always got to my messages. This was especially convenient when I was abroad or on the road.
I was very pleased with an excellent standard of work delivered by your staff. Their work was skilled, and any criticisms I made were immediately remedied without quibble. Everyone struck a good balance between following my suggestions but at the same time giving me courteous professional advice where their experience suggested a better way. They worked in a disciplined and professional way, were all good-humoured and cheerful throughout the job (a continuous flow of tea and coffee oiled the wheels) and obliged any request I made. The suppliers and auxiliary firms you recommended to provide the flooring, doors, utility room design and fittings, and cobbles and slabs for the driveway and patio were all excellent and provided a good and suitable choice and balance between cost and quality.
Some of the work presented unusual challenges, including liaising with the in-roof solar panel installers and building the (probably unique) sun room/conservatory I requested, providing only a sketch for guidance (it is wonderful!). Nevertheless, I was never burdened with the hurdles you had to overcome and your firm simply dealt with the issues, presented me with choices where appropriate, and got on with the work. I am delighted with all the finished products.
I particularly appreciate that your firm works continuously on jobs until they are finished and deals with all the snagging at the end of the job promptly and immediately. I really have no complaints because any issue that I raised was immediately worked on until I was satisfied without argument or quibble. I would recommend your company to others without hesitation, and I do.

Removal of Structural Wall & S & F Kitchen
I would really recommend using Alderson’s – they were excellent, did exactly what they said they would do and for the price quoted. It was really easy to contact Greg Alderson and he was really responsive to e-mails and replied quickly. All of the work was done exactly the days that were planned, and they were also flexible to do additional work we requested as the job progressed. The work was completed to a really high standard (joinery and tiling was excellent) and they came back really quickly to sort out some final ‘glitches’. General Maintenance
Alderson Building Services were originally recommended to me by a surveyor when we had a major problem with ingress of water in our kitchen. The work to solve the problem was carried out completely to my satisfaction at the time and I was extremely impressed with the company. It is, without doubt, the best building firm I have ever dealt with, and I have been pleased to use them on other occasions since, including this most recent one. At all times the work has been coordinated and carried out to the highest standard in an extremely timely and professional manner.

Superb service from start to finish. Precise and detailed estimate provided. The efficient work team arrived on the date agreed and on time, very caring and polite. All old fences and rubbish were taken away and great care was taken to preserve our plants and garden. The quality of fence erected and of workmanship were of the highest quality and beyond our expectations. Work on the shed roof was excellent as was the manufacturing of the gate which was made on-site to fit perfectly. Each day the site was cleared of rubbish and swept, and the duo kept us fully appraised of progress. Highly recommended for a superb job.
Garage conversion
Greg and Ian provided an outstanding service. Their communication was yet again excellent. This is the second job we’ve completed over the past few years. Support and guidance were provided throughout the whole conversion. Their team of contractors were very efficient, and the finish is excellent. Had the utility room and garage converted into one large room. From the very start, Greg was helpful and very professional making suggestions and telling us what could be done. He and his team dealt with the Building Regs people, so we had very little to worry about. All the workforce on the job were very professional and hard working. Nothing seemed too much trouble and nothing seemed to be a problem. All the work done was to a high standard and the lads always cleaned up before leaving. I would certainly use Alderson’s Builders again and would highly recommend them.
Side extension & toilet
Very impressive standard, could not fault it. Skilled work One of the walls was finished in Render and it is perfect. The added bonus was that Greg was readily available by text or email to deal with any queries, his ‘men’ had daily contact too and the managing of the job was of a very high standard. Thank you to all involved in giving us a splendid extension, although small it is a huge improvement to our bungalow.

Extremely punctual and hardworking. Very obliging, helpful and pleasant. Kept informed as to what was going on (written plan of how work would progress given at the start and informed of holidays etc). Very satisfied.

Excellent service, starting with Greg’s initial advice followed by a detailed quotation and, finally, a quality finished installation. Work took slightly longer than we initially thought it would, this was due to the workman having to alter a previously badly fitted bath area. The staff were professional and very friendly, they worked really hard from start to finish. The end result was a very neat and tidy job, they cleared all the mess up and cleaned the area prior to leaving and involved us in every decision that had to be made. 10/10
Side extension
From initial design to completion, the whole team provided an excellent service and was exactly what we wanted, and more!! Excellent workmanship, they really take pride in what they do. All staff are polite and very conscientious.
Internal reconfiguration resulted in the creation and fitting of a new bathroom.
Everyone was incredibly professional, and they tidied up as much as possible at the end of every day. Work progressed smoothly with different workers (e.g., builders, electricians, plumbers, tillers, etc.) coordinated well so that the job was completed with no delays. The work is as expected, and the quote allowed for movement depending on the fixtures chosen (we actually came in under budget at the end of it).
Single-storey rear extension and knock-through.
From our initial quote to completing the work, the service we received from Alderson’s was first class. The communication prebuild was exceptional and once the build began, the impact on our daily life was negligible. The builders were clean, tidy and left the site each day with minimum disruption. When a problem was encountered, we were given immediate solutions which enabled the work to continue. Even during the knock-through, measures taken by the builders meant we had no dust in the house. We are absolutely delighted with the final results. They even finished ahead of schedule.

The standard of work is great, and the end product looks better than I hoped it might! Internal alterations including conversion of extension to kitchen and knock through into living room
We hired Aldersons to remodel our dining room/downstairs toilet and convert it into a kitchen/family room, knock through into the existing lounge and replace patio doors with bi-folds. Everything ran very smoothly, from the initial consultation and design to the various contractors (joiner, plumber, electricians, window fitters, plasterers and tilers) all arriving when required. Greg kept in touch throughout the process and dealt with queries from council building control. We would definitely use Aldersons for any future building projects and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Refitting of walk-in shower
Cannot fault the service from Greg and his team on this job. They gave honest and helpful advice at all stages, and the execution of the work was meticulous. I wanted my garage converting to a games room and being relatively new to the area I asked around for recommendations for builders. Alderson’s name came up with multiple people – “not the cheapest but very reliable” was a consistent response that I received which frankly is exactly what I wanted. Greg was extremely courteous and professional from the outset and the work was delivered on cost and ahead of time. I’m delighted with the outcome. A special mention for Kevin (what a grafter) and Chris the supervisor who was super helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Alderson’s to anyone looking for a reliable and conscientious builder.

The team worked efficiently. They were always pleasant and considerate, and reliable. The work was in the garden and involved debris being taken through the terrace house and they began with constructing complete protection along the hall way.
